Stages of Care

Acupuncture is medicine, it is not magic.

Just like you go get your teeth cleaned, go to yoga, and have your check-ups, acupuncture should be viewed as preventative medicine. Unfortunately, as a society we don't actually do something until the situation is dire. Wildflower Acupuncture wants to change that habit.

To ensure that all of our patients heal and stay healthy we have stages of care that are reflected in the packages that we offer (which are personalized for each patient and their condition).

There are three stages:

1. Relief/Rescue - This stage is where we eliminate or reduce discomfort. We begin to correct and stabilize the current condition. In this stage, it is recommended that the patient comes in 2-4 times a week depending on severity and chronicity of the issue.

2. Corrective/Recovery - This stage is where we correct any underlying injury or cause of discomfort, we strengthen the body functions, nourish the body system and begin to implement new healthy life habits (diet, exercise, stretches...etc). Treatments are less frequent and depending on severity and chronicity of issue can be reduced to once a week.

3. Wellness/Maintenance - This stage is where treatments are focused on preventing the old issue from coming back and to prevent new ones from showing up. Just like changing the oil in your car, getting a massage or brushing your teeth, this stage is where acupuncture can be the most important because you are preventing future issues. Treatment consistency in this stage depends on your lifestyle and health goals, but can be 2-4 times a month.

Health is important. YOU are important.
